Gender-Based Violence & the ERA: Sex Equality & U.S. v. Rahimi

Join the ERA Project for Gender-Based Violence and the Equal Rights Amendment: A Discussion About Sex Equality and United States v. Rahimi, in which legal experts will discuss what is at stake in this case and the potential of the ERA to reorient the legal system's responses to gender-based violence.

October is #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth, and the ERA Project is spotlighting United States v. Rahimi, a gun rights case that will test the Supreme Court's new 2nd Amendment standard under New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. In the lead-up to the November 7th oral arguments in Rahimi, join ERA Project Academic Advisory Council members Victoria Nourse (Ralph V. Whitworth Professor in Law at Georgetown Law) and Julie Goldscheid (Professor of Law at CUNY Law) for a discussion moderated by ERA Project Policy Associate Naomi Young. On the agenda: What is at stake in this case? And how could the Equal Rights Amendment reorient the legal system's responses to gender-based violence?
